Texture Drawing

The ten designs shown in this piece all come together to illustrate detailed texture. This composition allows the viewer to derive their own interpretation of this piece because of the flow across different segments. Using only black pen, the 10” composition exhibits many textures transitioning from one to the next. In this piece, methods of stippling, line variation, and pattern formation were used. From the top to the bottom, the observer can identify different styles and textures. Some sections are based on physical objects, and others were created to display an illusion-like design. This piece effectively displays textures to encapsulate a visually interesting design through various forms of patterns and marks.
